Founded in 2016, Joyjourney was born from a simple belief — that true luxury is unhurried, personal and lived entirely in the present.
From alpine dream to boutique landmark
Joyjourney began as the vision of a small team of Queenstown locals who wanted to create a hotel that felt true to its landscape — built from the stone, timber and wool of the region, and grounded in the rhythms of alpine life.
The casino-inspired lounge was conceived not as a gaming floor, but as a salon — a place where guests gather for card evenings, conversation and curated wines beneath warm brass light. It is an atmosphere, not a transaction.
A decade on, we remain proudly independent and intentionally small — every guest known by name, every evening shaped around the people in the room.
